As preferred suppliers to the local authorities in the Shropshire area, they provide quality care staff in a full range of public and private healthcare settings across the county and business is now growing across North Wales too.
We caught up with our lovely Branch Manager Faye to learn more about her and the latest and greatest from the Telford office.
1. Hi Faye! For those who haven’t met you yet, can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to Safehands Recruitment?
I started out in the recruitment world for the first time in January 2018. I have an extensive history of customer service, sales and hospitality and also worked in the dental care industry for many years. I have always had a real passion for how I leave people feeling, whether that’s from a product I have sold or whilst serving them in my restaurant or bar roles. Since leaving school and starting my very first job, I have always made a real effort to provide that A* service in every single position I have had. And I feel that my drive and “can do” attitude led me to the opportunity with Safehands.
2. Love this Faye! Tell us a bit about the Telford branch – who’s in the team and what makes you all tick?
We have a very close team here in Safehands Telford. One where we are all in the same boat with the levels of service, care and attention we provide. We all know what we need to do, and we get it done to the highest standards possible. Natalie is the queen of recruitment in every aspect, and her knowledge and expertise is invaluable to us all. We have all learnt so much from Nat over the years, and I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for her support and guidance. Amber is a force to be reckoned with. She is like a dog with a bone! She is smooth and seamless in her approach and processes and Telford really would not work the same without either of these ladies. Combine all 3 of us, and you are left with an extremely well-oiled, organised, and polished branch and work like cogs in a clock. Everyone enjoys visiting the Telford branch as we have a very warm and welcoming office.
3. What areas do you specialise in at the Telford branch – and what kind of healthcare settings do you typically support?
We support all areas of care here in Telford, from children aged 4 to elderly care/nursing homes. The full circle so to speak. Our staff provide a real level of care we are proud of and the services we support and the testimonials we have received over the years can echo this. Many friendships have been made over the journey of Safehands and many new to come. We support the local authorities closely and are one of their agencies of choice for support.
4. What geographical areas do you currently cover?
We support all of Shropshire bordering around Telford, like Newport, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, Shrewsbury, North Shropshire, South Shropshire and we’ve recently ventured into North Wales – gradually growing this area of clients and staff very organically. It shows a real level of dedication to the areas we provide service for, and knowing we have been open since 2013, provides that real reassurance to clients we are the leading care staff agency in our area!
5. What types of staff can you supply to clients – and are there any particular roles or skill sets you’re known for?
We cover all and any healthcare roles and ensure our staff are equipped and skilled in all areas of care so they can support any setting (unless Complex care). Experience is always essential for our recruitment process, meaning our staff all have some background in care. We are also now supporting education settings too, with staff including Nursery Nurses, Early Years Practitioners, Room Leaders and Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinators.
6. How do you ensure a great match between the healthcare professionals you place and the clients you support?
We don’t recruit specifically for any role unless complex care. As Healthcare is so extensive and diverse; it requires fully committed staff with a real passion for all care. That is a super valuable attribute to the service we provide.
7. Are there any sectors or services you’re particularly excited to be growing right now
Yes, we would love to build our RGN and RMN bank in the Shropshire and North Wales area and this is something we are actively working on. If you are a nurse looking for agency work, we’re always happy to hear from you.
8. What’s been a recent highlight or proud moment for the Telford team?
Winning new contracts in the last 12 months has not been an easy feat, and it takes some real skill to obtain these new business contracts. We are obtaining new business monthly, and this is testament to the team here and everything they do day in day out.
9. What would you say sets Safehands apart from other healthcare recruitment agencies in the region?
I think over the years what I have learned from the level of service we provide; is we are genuine about the support we cover. We are not a numbers game company. We strive for excellence in every way possible, including the service we provide to our clients, and this really does shine through from the start and throughout. We build genuine relationships with not only our clients but our workers and there is that level of real care and compassion. We go that extra mile and treat every single service as if it was our own. We want to ensure any inspections and audits fly through with the support of our team and staff. We do better and we are better in every single aspect.
10. Finally, what’s your vision for the Telford branch in the year ahead?
We are working on a big contract where we will be working even more closely with the local authority and this will boost more local work for our pool of staff in the Telford area. We are really excited about this new opportunity on the horizon!
